Fire of fury and fertility

The province was founded in 1565 when a captain steering a Spanish galleon back to Acapolco was so struck by the sight of Mayon and Bulusan Volcanoes continuously spewing thick, white smoke into the skies. He logged down what he saw, and this led to the founding of the province. The province got the name it bears to date in 1663.

The province of Albay with a total land area of 2,552.6 square kilometers lies at the southern tip of mainland Luzon. It is located at the center of the Bicol Region and bounded by the bodies of water.

The big alterations of tone and of words arises as one travels away from the city proper. People here also speak Tagalog fluently. English is not difficult for them to communicate with liberal stature. Founded by volcanic mountain ranges, the eastern part of the province has no dry season but there is very pronounce maximum rainfull from November to January. Meanwhile, in the western part, rainfalls evenly distributed throughout the year. The average monthly temperature ranges from 28.1C to a low of 25 C in January.
